Lift Off builds its core gameplay around staged rocket launches where each tap uses skill-based timing to control the release of fuel segments during ascent. Releasing at the optimal moment applies stronger physics-driven acceleration effects, while delayed or early input reduces efficiency or can cause failure. Each successful run sends astronauts toward distant planets, starting with Mars, where colonies generate passive income over time. Rewards from flights are used to upgrade rocket systems, including additional fuel stages for longer travel, expanded astronaut capacity for higher colony output, and unlockable rocket skins with unique visual designs. New launch sites gradually open deeper space exploration routes, increasing distance and reward potential with each upgrade cycle.
